"Don’t Just Kick It"
A Soccer Guide for Every Family, Fan and Volunteer
With Marcelo Balboa
Boulder, Colorado based Sudden Impact Sports has released a new soccer book called Don’t Just Kick It on September 1, 2006. Boulder, Colorado based authors John Fraser and Dirk Moore collaborated with USA soccer legend Marcelo Balboa, and have created a soccer guide for every family, fan and volunteer in America.
Don’t Just Kick It was developed based on the concept that as soccer continues to explode in popularity at the youth level, there are millions of parents, fans, and volunteers who never played the game that their kids enjoy so much. This simple, light, easy to follow book will help educate the masses involved with the game, with the “goal” being a greater level of enjoyment for everyone involved with the world’s most popular sport.
AYSO alumnus Marcelo Balboa lends his expertise by sharing his real life experiences as a young player in the youth and club system in Southern California, later as an All American at San Diego State, with the US National Team in the 90s, and with the MLS Colorado Rapids. In combination with authors Fraser and Moore, Balboa provides insight into the 10 key principles and concepts of good soccer. The guide includes 25 diagrams, tips for families, fans and volunteers, frequently used terms- and can be read in about the time it takes to watch a soccer match.
Top names and experts throughout the soccer world support Don’t Just Kick It. MLS head coaches like Fernando Clavijo, UCLA head coach Jorge Salcedo, former President of US Soccer Dr. Bob Contiguglia and others all agree "this is the one book every American soccer family should read to become more educated, and provide better support for our youth players around the country.
